The bible is obviously written by primitive human beings.....I am not denying that God exists, but i question why people have to be so illogical and follow a primitive book that obviously was written by man and is not the word of God. For instance, everyone says that God is benevolent and kind and that he forgives all, yet the old testament (and even parts of the new testament) show him being a sadistic, unkind, unforgiving being! It is a BOOK written by men who gave God human characteristics.......Why do you follow it?????? Why follow illogic?
If we listened to the bible, we'd all still be living on a flat world with hell just below us and heaven somewhere to the left of the moon.

not the old testament......it hints to the fact that the world is flat, and only later does it reference the world being round

Yes the scripture was written so that the people of ancient knowledge can understand it. It is also written so that people of today can see truth see their need for Christ and come to Him. I could say the the Bible talking about the circle of the earth is very forward in it's teachings. How about this verse..
Job 26:7
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
The ancients had such thoughts? WOW
And how about Prophecy.
Psalms 22 16-18
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
Looks like I have more evidence that the Bible is valid than you do that it is a group of fables.... Jim

Just an added fact. There are "Bibles" published every year that vary from each other and what ever might have been the orignal bible which was a compilation of many memoirs and writings, as well as the Old Testament,from original languages into Greek.
And there began the origin of Bible Babel.

It is about faith and not logic. God was nothing but forgiving when He walked among us. He wants us to be like that. Showing His love to all even when they disagree with us as He did except with religious leaders. A lot of them show no love or forgiveness even now. As to following a primitive book forgiving your enemies and loving your neighbor is just as pertinent today as then and just like then people want to focus on the faults of others instead of focusing on offering love and service and that is still not the way God would have us act toward our neighbors, and enemies.

One answer...JC...Jesus Christ...he came into the world and brought forth a new covenant....Love thy neighbor as thyself....an ongoing controversy till the end of time....if you are reading the bible word for word trying to find the meaning with the human mind, you definitely will find it hard to comprehend and believe the events actaully happen....try reading the bible using key written words metaphorically in it's entire content....you will be spiritually lifted...I encourage you to do this....JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME....I just returned from this incredible journey....for many years I lived with doubts and even went so far as to call the Catholic Church the vessel of Satan...now I know better....The Roman Catholics actually saved mankind of extinction...I could go on forever......email me personally for your round trip ticket for this life changing journey....

People like fairytales to give a different meaning to their life , or because they don't have life and they feel lonely they want something to rely on. Also they afraid of death.
Even if we had the complete knowledge and have discovered and search all the universe those fears would not be vanished.
