I love the idea of it, but I've never participated. It seems like a good chance to take fun pictures, if nothing else.

That is the most self-answered question ever! (That's a good thing, you know.) Yes, indeed, I love Mardi Gras! Not only is it for adults, but it's a family event as well. Screw the Macy's Parade and forget about the people who says that it loses its novelty. I've lived here and gone to parades all my life (parade goer for nine years). It is a good time for everyone in the US, and no one can duplicate us!

when I first moved to Mobile, yes I did; now, it's like taking my kids is the reason I go; I like having fun and such, but after you seen one you will see them all; but to catch moonpies and such and see folks you haven't seen in a while and just have a familly thing where others around you are drinking and eating; now that's a good thing; but to me, the novelty has passed; However, I still encourage folks to try Mardi Gras here in Mobile or New Orleans just to have the experience.

I love Mardi Gras. Just the whole idea of it is great; just partying and celebrating for a whole week. The floats are amazing and no parade in this country can even come close to matching Mardi Gras parades and their floats. It is so much fun just standing there, drinking, and catching beads for hours. Everyone is having a good time and it's such a great atmoshpere. After going to Mardi Gras Parades it's hard to going to parades elsewhere b/c they seem so dull and boring compared to a Mardi Gras parade. All the parties around town, the crawfish boils, the food. I haven't been to Mardi Gras in NOLA since 2004, but I can't wait till the next time I can make it out there for Carnival.
