Take your bird to the vet!!!!

My cockatiel Unix lost one of her nails in an accident and it needed medical attention. It has never grown back. She needed medication to keep it from getting infected, and one of those silly satelite dishes to keep her from chewing on it.

Try this 1st- I'd be careful with superglue it could be toxic to your cat on an open wound To stop bleeding from a nail that is trimmed too close to the quick or broken away from the quick, you can pack the end of the nail with bar soap, styptic powder, cornstarch or flour, or tea leaves from a tea bag. Pack the coagulant up against the bleeding quick and hold it there for a minute or two but be careful the cat will allow this. Occasionally a nail that breaks off very close to the nail bed may create an infection in the toe that twill require a veterinary clinic visit and antibiotic treatment so watch for any limping that persists longer than two days.

the best thing to do is loser all the perch es and toys low to the ground and let it heal on its own i would give it a few weeks if its still bad take it to an avian vet i would call a vet and ask there oppinion they will want u to go down there for the cash but just listen for now and say you will bring it in tomarrow

remove sandpaper persches and any cloth that could catch it as well

corn starch is not very well i dont think its to healthy to stick a wound in cornstarch as it could infect it just apply some pressure for a while... or well mabey just take him to the vet because to much stress is very unhealty for a bird and cockatiel exspecially there very skittish well thats what i have read and my cockatiels are very very skittish

the best thing probally is to check with a vet because if a bird bleeds too much it can resolve in death of blood loss i would also check with the breeder or store you got it from the bird could have a bird defect and if you find a store up to no good report them on this website http://www.cockatielcottage.net other wise your bird should be fine it could just be a small injury that will heal on its own

i really dont know. But that doesnt sound to good so wat i suggest is that you bring it to a vet and tell them and ask if there is meidicine or ointment or something that can cure that.
