...explain this verse in which Jesus himself says he is not the bringer of peace but a SWORD and that you are to wage war EVEN AGAINST FAMILY should you accept Jesus...

"Think not that I (Jesus) have come to send peace on earth: I am not come to send peace but a SWORD. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." -Bible, Matthew 34:10-11

Or this verse in which, should you read by itself (nit-pick) sounds very much like you should FORCE others to join your daedra-worship (lol)...

"and the lord said to the servant, go out into the highways and hedges, and COMPEL them to come in, that my house may be filled." - Bible, Luke 14:23

See my example why you shouldn't nit-pick at just one or two verses thus losing the MEANING behind the WHOLE message?

I know that some do nit-pick. And that is not good. I don't think that Christians are the only ones that do that. I think it is in human nature to want to do that.

How many times do parent get upset at kids who nit-pick the parents instructions? Teenagers are really good at doing something wrong and then saying, "well you didn't me I couldn't do that." We all do it. We don't have to like it, but we do have to live with it.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about with the nit-picking, both those verses fit in well with the entire religion of Christianity. Christianity is an evangelical religion, meaning followers are supposed to let others know the "good news" It is one of the most basic principles of being a Christian, Jesus commanded followers to spread his gospel. The first verse means you should let know one stand in your way, people will often not agree with you and want to ridicule when you become serious about Christianity. This often includes family and those closest to you. Jesus said if you love father, mother, wife more than Me you are not worthy of Me. Jesus was not a hippie who was all about love and peace. He said He is the only way to the Father and anyone who believes Jesus was all about tolerance is a nit-picker and does not have a thorough understanding of the Bible.

I don't see Christians doing much in the way of nit-picking but constantly see Atheists doing it in fact I am seeing Atheists doing most of what they accuse Christians of doing and am having a hard time not seeing them as anything more than total bigots cramming their non-belief down the throats of those who are religious, and yes the Bible tells us that when we have accepted Jesus other people will turn on us like rabid dogs including our own families and there is a difference between the words COMPEL and FORCE.

Not sure, cause I don't have a degree in Bible, but I believe the sword that Jesus refers to here is the sword of the Word(Bible). I could be wrong here, perhaps an educated minister might help.

You need to realize that Jesus often spoke in parables and metaphors. When he talks about bringing a sword he is simply saying that he is shaking up the existing order -- the Kingdom of God will be totally different from the corrupt and sinful man-made order.

nicely i think of in some procedures your extraordinary yet even though you're additionally discriminating via saying all Christians many times, so yeah that's no longer extraordinary for everyone to push a faith on you yet some religions instruct you to push the be attentive to GOD so as that each and all and sundry the earth pays attention. it relatively is the reason some Christians do what they do yet no longer all of them do this and Christians are no longer the sole ones additionally Jehovah witnesses and Mormons. so which you fairly won't be able to say Christians it relatively is definitely many different religions that do this so I say to each and each his own and in case you opt to different than than different than if no longer than do no longer!!

Exactly. And why can't Christians accept the fact that God sometimes has to do evil in order to achieve what needs to be done:

Isaiah 45:7 -
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
