saying that. I get so upset when I see people using them just because they are lazy. I saw a woman in one and she was wearing high heels. Give me a break. What is everyone's opinion on this? Am I asking for too much? I must have one to shop and most of the time cannot find one.

I am conflicted on this one. I have an illness that on some days, I can walk through a large store on my own, and on other days, I can't hardly move and find it difficult to even get to the darn things. I find it humiliating to even have to use one, so I'm not sure why anyone would CHOOSE to use one, unless they needed it. I have a Placard issued by the DMV, but that doesn't change the fact that sometimes I don't use the spots.. when I feel good, and other times I have to use the spot/placard because of my illness. Sometimes, people just 'see' others and because it's not a removed limb or something obvious, they are 'seen' as fine. Invisible disabilities are rampant, and just because someone 'seems fine' to you doesn't mean they are. Laziness is a factor, but I don't believe that it's as widespread as most think it is. Invisible disabilities suck. That's my 2copper, good luck!

high heels? That's hillarious. Actually my hubby had ankle surgery a few months ago and he took a few electric carts out at the grocery store and Walmart and most of them are soo dangerous, they steer funny, they're always in the way of other people. And you're right, several times when he needed one they were all out to significantly overweight people (not that I'm trying to be mean).

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Every disability is not visible. Maybe the person you saw was just lazy....or maybe she has a heart problem that doesn't allow her walk that far. You don't know. A heart problem is not visible like someone with a broken foot would be for example.

I don't think that obesity should be considered a handicap. If you want to be fat, deal with it. You do not deserve a handicap spot and a special cart because you are to fat and lazy to walk.

I completely agree. People abuse their privlages. They should have one of those tags in their car that say "handicapped" to use an eletronic cart. But then again, people get those when they have no real problem too!

I agree. Some people who need them don't get them because someone else to fat and lazy to walk is using it. They should make handicap tags to use those!
