I have been dying my hair for 6 years and I have recently figured out the perfect way to dye my hair. I would like to have light brown hair with red and blonde highlights. My first problem is getting my hair auctually a "light" brown and my second problem is how to foil my hair... My brother does my hair every time and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. He needs to know how to properly foil my hair. Can anyone one with EXPERIENCE tell me how to do this?

first off i am a hair dresser, now its really hard to explain, but it sounds like you want a weave,
Use a clarifying shampoo on your hair at least two days before coloring.

Never shampoo the day you color.

Once you mix the color, use it right away!

Make sure you have on hand a pair of good, tight-fitting latex gloves (the ones that come in the package don't always fit well).

Start from the back of your head and work forward. By working from back to front, you won't smear the pieces in front by having to reach over them to do the back.

Apply the highlights only to the top layers of your hair. By leaving the hair underneath alone, you'll create depth and a sun-kissed look that looks completely natural!

when wrapping the hair in foil, use a rattail comb and fold a tiny pieace of the foil around the comb hold to the scalp apply the dye with the brush, now you should be able to remove the comb with no problem, now fold the bottom half way up, and then the two sides of the foil, make sure its neat not crumbley, this can make for bad processing!
hope this helped!

If he is not a professional and does not know how to foil, then an explanation on here is not going to work. You have to have practical experience slicing and weaving, and processing the 3 DIFFERENT colors that will differ timewise.. You get what you pay for. What you are talking about is an involved process, and needs to be done by a trained professional.

Foiling is a technique that is taught in cosmetology school...I don't recommend having an amateur try this on your hair....you're better off going to a stylist. Foiling is not easy...you can get bleed marks and it's hard to get close enough to the scalp unless you're trained properly.
