I had cancer so when my hair started growing back from my bald head it was about 4-6 months for a short hair style. Depending on how fast your hair grows determines the time as well. You will definitely have hair on your head in 3 months, but if your referring to a short cute style then I would add an extra two months.

I once shaved my head out of impulse in September of '05, by summer '06 I had it about 6 inches long.
