frontline is a treatment that is dispensed as by weight/size of dog.. make sure you have the pack for small dogs.. as long as it is the correct one it is fine... animals can pick up fleas whenever they go outside so put it on as soon as you kno its the right one..

Sounds a little young to me, there are some great repellent collars out there that are impregnated with citronella oil and lemon to repell fleas and ticks, we use them on our two year old collie and they haven't failed us yet. Try them first and spare your pup the chemicals. Find out from a vet then we your little ones a bit older. You must make sure you get the right level and strength otherwise it can be pretty dangerous for them.
You also have to keep them out of water for two days after it has been applied and not touch them until their fur has dried. You also need to make sure they haven't licked themselves or cleaned the area as this can cause excess salivating. It can be a pain in the bum to apply. Save it when you have some time and can watch over them, that way you know your pup will be safe and will be able to catch any reactions quickly.

The real Frontline that you get from a vet is safe to use on a puppy as young as 8 weeks old.
Don't use OTC flea products..they can cause serious skin burns, neurological problems, seizures even death.

Yes . It works great, even for mites that you may not see in the grass . I had a chihuahua puppy that was losing her hair even though I did not see any fleas . The vet gave her front line and I have never had a problem since .

I've tried many different things but frontline is the best. You can use it from 8 weeks but the pipettes can only be used for dogs over 2kg (I got the pack for the smallest size) there is different type of frontline you can use on dogs under 2kg.

Just checked my pack - think it will be fine but double check with vet if in doubt. I use it all the time as prevention rather than cure. My dogs both have bad reactions to flea bites and it is nicer for them and cheaper for me to do it this way round. Careful on your hands though - it is a bit smelly.
