The seed fell on different types of soil..........this shows how people will respond to the message that Jesus preached and his followers are still preaching today.

Dear Rachel,

I learned something from the Parable of the Sower about 10 years ago and it has been one of my favorites ever since then.

I was feeling like I was the seed that fell among the thorns and I didn't like it one single bit. One sunny summer morning I was walking up the steep steps to the church I then belonged to and had a sudden sense of the seed asking God to let it be picked up by a strong breeze or a bird and dropped onto good soil.

I immediately prayed to be replanted and to my utter amazement the guest preacher's sermon that morning dealt with the Parable of the Sower.

And yes my prayer got answered in the fullness of time. I outgrew the nice social organization that I had called a church and found an excellent Bible believing church which is the good rich soil in which I am able to produce fruit. So the lesson I learned was that it isn't necessary to remain in the thorns and brambles.

That once you are saved....you cannot lose your salvation. All christians represent the good soil......

As for the other seed.......this represents people who never truly accepted the Word as truth and were therefore never saved to begin with.

some people dont want anything to do with christianity and some want to live it but are too easily turned aside by peer pressure and some wiil hear you and then go on to live for God.
