Simple parallel circuits are circuits composed of components whose end points are connected together in such a way that total current flow is divided among all the components as opposed to series circuits where all the current flows through each component.

if you wanna Know if two circuit elements are connected in Parallel or series Just By Look :

1 - in parallel Circuits , Each Two Elements are Connected to each other at Two Points .

2 - in series Circuits , Each Two Elements are Connected at Only One Point .

Think of a ladder. one leg is+ and one leg is - and the steps are two wires from a light with on going to each side.

A series would be a rope with it being cut and a light tied between the two parts.

This is the most simple way I can describe and I use it my 101 electrical engineering class,
