My family has always taught me the catholic faith is true. People around me have always been so close-minded. When I was younger my family forced me to attend Sunday school. I had to listen to preists and nuns talk endlessy about why masterbuation is wrong, gay marriage is wrong, and even thinking about sex is wrong. The vibe I got from them was that people should just get married stick the penis in, not care about the women's needs, only do it once to consumate the marriage, and further time to procreate. Than you shouldn't even do it while married for pleasure. I have never understood this. I'm 15 and now I got to public school and I think that all this stuff I've been taught is a load of bullshit. I want to know why families don't listen to their kids when they say they don't believe in this sort of stuff. I understand that sex and marriage should be about love, but that church is completely oppisite. My grandfather still brings up the fact I didn't make my confirmation.

Catholics are not closed minded about sex.

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

We believe that God made sex so wonderful and important that it should only be celebrated with in the sacrament of marriage.

The spouses of a valid marriage:
• Create a bond, which by its very nature is perpetual and exclusive.
• Are strengthened and consecrated for the duties and the dignity of their state.
• Are sealed by God himself in their consent to mutually give and receive one another.
• Form a covenant that is integrated into God's covenant with man: "Authentic married love is caught up into divine love."
• Have their own special grace that:
. • Perfects the couple's love.
. • Strengthens their unity.
. • Helps one another to attain holiness in their married life.
. • Helps in welcoming and educating their children.

The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person, anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

Well my personal beliefs are similar to what you mentioned except for the masturbation part since I mostly see that as a lack of self control and not a serious sin b/c it's not mentioned in the bible.

I do believe sex is for pleasure, procreation, and to join with your spouse. If God just wanted people to have sex for procreation he could of made it different and left out the pleasure. He could of made it so we would be like animals having sex based on instinct and not b/c of pleasure. I especially think due to your age you shouldn't have sex since in reality your not mentally stable.
I know that sounds like an insult but it's not. When you get a little older you'll know why I say that.
Personally I don't like Catholics but it doesn't really have to do with there views on sex it's more about there history.
Although I do think priests should be allowed to get married.

you're saying your faith is wavering. Does that advise your faith replaced into solid faster or later? Does this additionally advise you blame God on your loss of a woman? Jesus suggested in case you have faith the size of a mustard seed you may circulate timber (Luke 17:6) or maybe entire mountains (Matthew 17:20, 21:21). And all you opt for for is a woman. in line with danger the problem isn't God, yet you. the 1st question you may desire to ask your self is, "Can God hear my prayer?" in case you have unconfessed sin, you're locked out of fellowship with God. regardless of each and every thing, what corporation does the Righteous have with the unrighteous? examine a million John a million:9 and proceed as a effect. and at times our faith is so susceptible that even in soliciting for help we make it obvious we don’t have self belief we’ll get it. James stated as this being double minded and suggested we shouldn’t anticipate something as quickly as we pray like that (James a million:6-8).

The Catholic faith is not saying you cannot enjoy the gift of sex. What they're trying to teach you is that it is a precious gift given to us by God for married couples only. It is a celebration of the love between them and a sharing in the creative power of life.

You need to understand that today's society is very immoral, treating sex like a trip to the store for an ice cream cone. Society has totally stripped away the sanctity and holiness of sex. Your family may be trying to show you this in their own way, so don't be too hard on them. The lessons you learn now will help you to live a fuller, happier life, so learn them well.

Do whatever you need to do to finish your confirmation. You're lucky, I didn't receive mine until I was 30, and I wish I'd been your age when I was confirmed. Just know that it is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

God bless.

If you really want the skinny on sex and the Catholic Church, pick up a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and read.

Better yet, go to this website:
http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm (it's the Catechism online)

and read up on "adultery", "abstinence', "chastity", etc. You will get the real teachings on the subject. More importantly, you will know why such things are taught.
