Talking with God is simple. Many examples of it within scripture. All you have to do is talk to Him. Usually this is called prayer. It can be done by speaking out loud or silently from within. Position that you are in while doing so doesn't matter. You can kneel, stand, be laying down - it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter the time of day as the examples within scripture show praying in the morning, noon, and night - to even the middle of the night.
All you do is - talk. He is more than willing to listen. In fact, He has been waiting.

Just remember that talking to God is just like talking to a person. How you talk, what you say and how you say it depends on the situation of where you are at right then. God is God the King as well as God the Father. Think about Prince Charles and his mother the Queen. When he is around the palace and there is no one else there, the Queen is "Mum", but if they are out in public the Queen is THE QUEEN, and he has to address her as such. Same thing with God. When you are alone it is like Jesus cried out when He was praying alone in the garden of Gesthmene, "Abba" which means daddy. When you pray in the company of others then it is Father and Lord. But talk normal, He will hear you no matter what.

First and most important you must read your Bible, to understand him and his ways, all answers for all questions are there but it is put in such a way that many cannot see it or understand it, Jesus did this on purpose to see who would be sincere and who is following the traditions of their fathers and not seeking a relationship of their own, That is why all the parables and looking all over the book to put pieces of truth together. Paul did search the Scriptures for 3 years to find Jesus because he did already know about God of the Bible.
Salvation is in the word and in Jesus only this is plainly taught in the Bible. Knowing this is true, then you must make seeking God a daily routine, first and foremost, you do this through pray and/or meditation on the word, ask what you maybe but listening is more important than talking, remember God will bring to your remembrance things you must do or say and anything that comes to your mind during this time does only have 3 sources---YOU---Satan---God, you can judge the source by who benefits most by that thought.

Pray.
Some may think this is one-way communication, but it isn't. It can be difficult at times, but listen as you pray. You may 'hear' or feel something. I've often been told that if a good thought enters my mind, I should follow it; everything good comes from God. If you are still troubled by your decision, perhaps it isn't the right one.
When you pray, be sincere. Ask God for help; tell Him exactly what you need help with. Talk to Him as you would a loving father, for that is exactly what He is: your loving Father.

Step 1: Post the same question 4 times.
Step 2: Get reported for each of the 4 times said question was posted.
Step 3: Log off of Y!Answers and go to a church/mosque/synagogue and pray.

A prayer... when i am most in need,i find talking to god the best, most, helpful way to overcome my stress.
Have strong beileve, think about the times he saved you, protected you, think about all the good qualities in you... i am sure he gave you many things that you should be thankful for... a prayer is your only opportunity to thank your god and communicate with him.
good luck

Absolutely just talk to Him as a friend. He doesn't need you to use fancy words, just tell Him what's on your mind. He's ready anytime...and He's a great listener.
But when you're done talking, sit quietly in His presence and just listen. You'll hear his still, small voice speaking back to you in your heart.

Like you talk to yourself, ask him questions, show him things, thank him for something pretty you just saw, expect him to respond (not literally). Do it at night when you laying in bed, in your car, on the bus, during a walk, anytime . Go to bookstore and look for books, devotionals to help.

I started by talking with Jesus, together we worked through my sinful ways. Jesus is our salvation, He cleanses our spirit allowing us to become holy in the sight of Our Father.
