Talking with God is simple. Many examples of it within scripture. All you have to do is talk to Him. Usually this is called prayer. It can be done by speaking out loud or silently from within. Position that you are in while doing so doesn't matter. You can kneel, stand, be laying down - it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter the time of day as the examples within scripture show praying in the morning, noon, and night - to even the middle of the night.
All you do is - talk. He is more than willing to listen. In fact, He has been waiting.

By praying to him. He is ready to speak to us at all times by means of sixty-six books, little in size, some consisting of only a single page, but weighty in contents. Through the pages of the bible, we are can appreciate just how God views matters, what he is thinking about and what we must do to please him.
Prayer should not be an empty ritual, nor should it be a means by which to gain something. A major reason for approaching God is to have a close relationship with him. Our prayers should therefore be directed to Jehovah God. “Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him,” said the psalmist David. (Psalm 145:18) And he invites us to come into a peaceful relationship with him. (Isaiah 1:18) Those who draw near to Jehovah God will enjoy true happiness and peace of mind.

The only way to talk to him is by Praying. Say it in your mind or aloud. The Lord our God is listening as always.

" People are hungry for the Word of God that will give peace, that will give unity, that will give joy. But you cannot give what you don't have. That's why it is necessary to deepen your life of prayer.
Be sincere in your prayers. Sincerity is humility, and you acquire humility only by accepting humiliations. All that has been said about humility is not enough to teach you about humility. All that you have read about humility is not enough to teach you humility. You learn humility only by accepting humiliations. And you will meet humiliation all through your life. The greatest humiliations is to know that you are nothing. This you come to know when you face God in prayer.
Often a deep and fervent look at Christ is the best prayer; I look at Him and He looks at me. When you come face-to-face with God, you cannot but know that you are nothing, that you have nothing."

You can talk to God just like you would talk to a friend. Be honest. If you're angry at Him, tell Him. If you're grateful, tell Him. Pretend He is a real person you are talking to, because He is!

You have to have faith in him.
You don't literally hear him talk all of a sudden, but if you really believe and trust in him, you can talk and you just get a feeling. He's like a conscience.

Prayer.. just talk to Him. He's listening. Talk out loud, or just in your mind. It doesn't even have to be complete thoughts or sentences, He will understand what you are saying.
