Love is patient, kind and long lasting. It will last when lust moves out. Lust is a powerful force and is based on a feeling that can linger a week a month or longer. Love looks on the inner where lust is selfish and superficial. Love will last forever and lust will fade. Love honors and values a person for what they are and lust is about selfish desires and what you can get out of it.

Time. Lust doesn't stick around for the long term. Lust doesn't want you when your sick. Lust won't give you a kidney. Lust doesn't care whats best for you or take your feelings into consideration. Lust doesn't want a future with you outside of sex.
Lust is selfish. Finite. Shallow and pale.
Love and Passion is better than lust any day of the week!

to us kids at my school by the way im 14 we count lust as something that u think u love them but u only have been with or liked them for a lil while but love is where u really are about someone and u wuld die without and when ur around them u feel like nothing can happen and that they love u back and that they love u for who u r and u dont have to do anything u dont want to u do and they will respect ur decision but that is just mine and friends idea of lust and love

Love is when you don't care too much about what the person looks like. You love them for who they really are, on the inside. Lust, on the other hand. is when you don't even know the person that well but you think you love them. This is based on physical attraction only.

Love is more of an intamite connection that 2 people share. IT is a special connection that you feel. Its deep, pure and true and when you love you never want to fall out of it. Lust is more of an attractive thing. When 2 people are attracted to each other and you havent really met them but you feel connected to them its lust.

ok, let me just say that some of those answers are rediculous. Lust is when you are only interested in a person physically, I'll admit you might like their personality too, but you mostly like them for their physical-ness.
Love is when you can imagine marrying the person and being with them forever. It's when you can notice someones negative features but love them anyways. If you love someone, you aren't interested in anyone else. I can go on but you get the idea :)

Lust is sexual "intense sexual desire or appetite."
Love is often not sexual "a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person"
Some people use sex to express their love, but the two are very different. You can love people you don't lust after, and feel great lust for someone you do not love.
