Where?

Where I am at, you can fish for trout 365 days a year.

That depends on where you intend to fish. Usually each river or area have their own start and end dates for the season, e.g. Lough Corrib trout season opened on 15th February and closes again on 30th September. Rivers in the western Regional area only open mid March. Salmon seasons differ from trout seasons too so check out your local fisheries board or a local tackle shop for more info.

For trout in Missouri it is April 1. If we have an area for salmon I'm not aware of it.

It depends on the state in which you are fishing. Here is a list of all 50 state Fish and Wildlife agencies. Each has there own published guide for each season.
