Does this person always have problems? Like do they always smell like they need a shower? Or is it a new problem? Maybe they are having trouble with their smelling sense.
Anyway, I say tell them when no one is around. "This is really hard for me to say because I never in a million years would want to hurt your feelings. But I feel I have to tell you this because I'm your friend and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed....then pause as they take this in........You have body odor. Are you taking a shower daily?" then see where that takes the conversation.

Tell them to clean their stinky butt up. I hate smelly people.
Ive did some dirty work in my life, everything from factories to working on cars and even furnaces/boilers. I always take a few minutes during the daytime while at work to clean up a bit, and the first thing i do when i hit the door at home is to hit the shower.

isn't it astonishing how they may be so candy and clean as toddlers then they get to an age while they are all BO! you're able to take a seat him down and tell him he's now sufficiently old to start annoying approximately his visual attraction to the girls. tell him you're going procuring and enable him p.c.. out his own deo-for-the-BO and a few cologne or awl deodorant cleansing soap and foot powder. Make it a ceremony of passage into manhood. purchase him one in each of those little shaving equipment pouches to place all of it in. in case you're making it a particular guy-to-guy day, he will prefer to apply those products and not experience undesirable approximately you thinking he stinks. enable him know that that is okay to sweat while he's taking photographs hoops or working stressful, yet once you get around human beings you gotta look sturdy and scent sturdy. that is a memorable time for the two one in each of you. that's what I did with my son.

Make sure that you and the other person are in an isolated area, and gently say, "I have noticed that you have a particularly strong body odor...it sometimes relates to what we eat or how often we exercise...but I would really appreciate it if we could both focus on taking more effort to bathe regularly?" if you place emphasis on using words such as 'we', the person will feel less defensive and more apt to listen with open ears...some variation of this could work as well...it's nice of you to be so concerned about the feelings of your friend, very good. :)

There is no way to do it....feelings will always be hurt. Just be truthful and have some tact in how you do it.

tough one. If you are their true friend, they should understand. But tell them that you are only say that for their own sake. Tell them that if you didn't tell them, that sooner or later it would have come out anyways
