Why do people think the world is going to end in 2012? Do you think it is and why?

I don't know of 2012 as a date.
I understand that no one will know the day or the hour, there has been people who have forecast his coming and nothing happened.

I do know that the actual date is now 2010. Not 2007.
It was thought that the Gregorian calendar was off by 4-7 years but no one knew the exact number. A man named Paul Sides has come up with the accurate measurement. Jesus was born in 3BC. That is where the time line starts for us. 2007 + 3 = 2010. Perhaps it is Sept. 13 , 2007. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WAIT AROUND AND SEE. It is called the pan theory--wait and see how it all pans out. OLAY!

Because they are nuts.
For example if you read the new testament you will find that some of the first christians believed that jesus was came allready or that jesus would come in their days.
Religion can make a people very psychotic.
As you can read at the Old Testament and the New Testament they have been reports of possesed people. Why other ancient texts of greece or other countries does not report such cases?
Because the Jewish religion is the one that drove in madness those people. Have you heard about the statistics that the Jehova witnesses have the bigger percent of lunacy????

Well the Bible says that nobody except for God the Father knows when the end days are upon us, but we can make educated gueses about when it will happen based upon prophecies that have been fullfilled and ones that havent. Personally, I believe that Jesus will come back to rapture his church within the next 50 years. But then again, it could be in the next 2 years. Nobody knows.

It is a Mayan Prophecy. December 21, 2012 and sometimes read as December 23, 2012. It is going to end for some, but I don't think it will be all. People die every year, so I don't think it will be a year wiithout death.

Manuscripts say it will be exactly 3 1/2 days after the two witnesses are killed in the arena in Jerusalem. People who give exact dates are always left to look like idiots. I submit this may or not be the case with whoever this is; Christ will return when least expected. Do you know when people will LEAST expect Him???
