Have skied in quite a few different places in Austria but my fav was Mayrhofen. Great skiing, you can ski a different area everyday covered on the one lift pass if you want and it has some great night life. Looks to have great snow at the mo as well. Zell am See and Kaprun are also great areas.

Check out the detailed snow report for your resort on www.ifyouski.co.uk and the latest snow forcast.

I've just come back from ski-ing in France and the snow is awesome there currently, I imagine it is fairly decent throughout the Alps at the moment. I've skied all over Europe as well as further afield, and Austria is certainly pretty good. I'm quite fussy about piste area and variety of runs so I prefer some of the French ski areas, but it depends what you're after and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Just got back last week from Bad Gastein. Fabulous!!! Some of the lower slopes were closed due to not enough snow cover, but there were plenty of runs open. Not as much snow this year as last year though. We had sun every day except for the last day when it was cloudy. The first 2 days were so warm I skiied in just my long-sleeved t-shirt! I think Austria is the best country in Europe for a skiing holiday - good value for money, great accommodation and food and wicked skiing. Have a great time.........................x
