You could get dark brown highlights, you could get a caramel color, or you can get amber highlights. You could also get small streaks of blonde.

The "icky orange" highlights girls have are typically from bad DIY jobs. If you go to a salon, this won't happen.
I think a good idea would be to not only get highlights, but lowlights as well. This will add dimension to your hair and will complement the lighter bits of your hair while still looking natural.
Also, make sure to get either neutral or warm highlights; cool highlights are the ones that look either orange-y or too silver/white to be natural.

Okay.
Ask for either a caramel or a lighter brown then your hair already is.
you can always go with blonde but i dont like blonde highlights on brown-haired people too much.
Chunking is a type of highlights then makes you have big ugly stripes in your hair and they are more expensive.
Obviously i dont like them.
If you do a cap highlight its very thin highlights all in your hair.
some of them you might jnot even notice.
Also, if you decide to do that, and when you are sitting there and they say they are done and you can not see them, dont worry, they will show up in the sun.
good luck!

Ask the hairdresser for natural blonde colours and ask which you think would look the most natural for your hair. If you have thin hair dont get loads of highlights just a few or it'll look tacky. if you have thick hair get quite a few but dont wreck your hair with too much fake colour. Just think carefully before you decide wat 2 do. Hope this helps u! It'll look fab!

I have light brown hair. I went to Toni an dGuy and said I wanted natural blonde highlights. They did it, and it looks GREAT!!! It isn't fake looking. It's fine and I love it. Go try it!
