If I am not mistaken under green/ white/ checkered conditions, when their is a caution you have to race to the finish line. If martin (And I am a BIG martin fan) let up because he thought a caution was coming shame on him.
Harvick won that race. He out drove Mark.

If the Yellow flag were thrown, then the cars would have reverted back to the positions they were in before the second to last wreck. It was clear that Harvick crossed the finish line first, but I thought Martin had won. But, that's because I know the rules.
Also, I'm more upset about the drivers caught behind the wreck. They lost places and points. So throwing the caution affected the entire field, not just the leaders. People seem to be missing that! If the wreck had never occurred..... Who knows- Harvick, Busch, or Martin could have taken the win.

There is no way to tell. They swapped the lead a couple times in the last 500 yards or so from the start of the wreck to the finish line. If Martin let up, then he lost it himself. Everyone of those drivers knows to race until the yellow comes out, not until they feel it comes out. But if another thing I have heard happened, Harvick got Martin loose before pinning him to the bottom of the track, then Harvick would have still won by the same margin.
And I am a Harvick fan, but I can't say who would have won without the wreck. And the last wreck wasn't what helped Harvick win. Everyone seems to forget the fact he was buried with an overheating problem until the caution with like 40 to go came out and allowed the team to fix the car.
I'm glad NASCAR let this one play out to the end, as if they didn't, they would have robbed the fans of an exciting finish.
Edit - I have found UNDENIABLE proof that if the caution came out when the wreck started, Harvick wins. (Thanks to StarFoxIV on the Harvick Hotline)

No, he probably would have won with just a little help from Kyle Busch. If the wreck had not occurred then Kyle should have been able to get up on Mark and give him enough of a bump to get him into victory lane. Kyle had a fast enough car and Matt had already given Kevin such a big hit that he couldn't have gotten back to his bumper before the end. The thing that really surprised me about the whole deal was the fact that Matt Kenseth launched Harvick into victory. Why wouldn't Matt either help Martin (his one time part owner, former teammate and mentor) or at least NOT help someone else beat him. Matt must have just figured that the only way he could advance his position was to advance Harvick, but wow. It was such an exciting finish to a mostly boring race, we'll be talking about it for years. I'm not taking sides in this deal it's just how I happened to see it.

Even though I don't like Kevin Harvick I think that he still would have won wreck or not although it would be more of a battle. I hate watching races end under caution and the leader getting a free ride to the finish line.

Of course he would have lost. Because NASCAR acted like the last wreck never did happen, and they didn't put out the caution flag. So we already know what would happend if the last wreck didn't happen. The question is would Martin have won if caution came out. Yes, he would have. Did NASCAR blow it. Yes they did. The rules are when there is obstacles that could endanger the racers or imepede racing then the Caution Flag comes out. That's the rules and NASCAR blew it. Remember it's for their safety, and remember there are still guy's racing for 23rd,24th,25th place. Seems like NASCAR didn't care about their safety by not bringing out the Caution Flag. It was a bad call on NASCAR's part.

reminds me of the indy 500 where there was a crash at the end and a local yellow was called, making paul tracy slow, thinking he would win the race, but helio castro neves passed him and was declared the winner. i think martin was ahead at the crash when the yellow should ahve come out, but for some reason the officials decided to ignore the wreck, and let the race finish. i guess he should have just gone full out regardless, but i am tired of makeing the rules as you go.

I still think if Martin didnt make a mistake on that last lap, he would have won regardless....He did get loose in that turn, and that had to cost him big time.

yes, harvick was just laying back, like jr was a few years ago, his car could go anywhere, before the wreck happened they were going to get a run on him . but it would've been nice to see him win,'cause i think that will be his last shot at it.
