I have natural not too light not too dark blonde hair and I would like to make it lighter without coloring it and I would like to try Sheer blonde. Does it work? Is Sheer Blonde by John Frieda only for colored hair or natural blonde hair too?

The only way to lighten hair is to use some sort of hair color product with ammonia and peroxide, a hair bleach or (only in certain circumstances) chamomile tea or a spray in product (like Sun-In)

Here's the deal:

If you're looking to only go a shade or two lighter, then a hair color you can purchase at a drug store (Feria, Nice N Easy, etc) will work nicely. However...

If you want to go 3 or more shades lighter, you'd have to use some sort of hair bleach. In this case you'd probably would be well-advised to go to a salon and have it professionally done.

Lastly, if you're simply looking for some highlights and your hair is at least medium blonde, you could try to use chamomile tea and/or Sun-In for highlights. Basically, you brew a pot of tea, put it in a spray bottle and blow-dry your hair. This also works with lemon juice, although I find it a bit harsh on hair. Also, beware if your hair is on the dark side or has any sort of reddish tones to it--you could end up with orange hair, so proceed with extreme caution when using this method.

Sheer blonde says its for natural or color-treated blonde hair. I have natural light blonde hair and used it before. It made my hair shiny, not really blonder though. It's ok, but don't expect it to actually lighten your hair.

It doesn't actually change your hair color it makes certain tones in your hair stand out more. so the lighter blonde notes in your hair will be more noticeable over time
