Yes it is illegal to commit suicide. Basically the law assumes that someone who does want to kill themselves is probably mental ill, making it illegal is a way to get anyone who does attempt suicide (or makes a statement of intent) into the mental health system and therefore get the help they need. The law doesn't take into account terminally ill patients who are not mentally ill, but rather looking to alleviate there pain and hessian their impending death.

As a civilian, you are not obligated to inform anyone of another's suicidal thoughts, even though from a moral basis you probably should. However: teachers, medical personnel, and police officers all have legal obligations to report any suspicion of an individuals intent to harm themselves (or others for that matter)
In some circumstances though an individual could be seen as liable for another suicide in a civil court, but that is no guarantee and very difficult to prove.

Duty of care requires you to tell someone that can help if someone else tells you they are planning suicide so yes legally you need to tell someone. It does not have to be authorities usually the best way is to listen to what they have to say, tell the person that their feelings are important and then keep them safe by getting extra help to handle it. This could mean connecting the person with with a suicide crisis line or encouraging them to see a psychologist. Lifeline teaches a suicude intervention program called safeTALK which explains duty of care and our legal obligations when you are told about someone's plans for suicide. As far as actually attempting or succeeding i'm not complelty sure it is illegal but i could be wrong on that. i do know however that under duty of care you have a responsibility to connect the person with someone that can help.

Commtting suicide is not illegal. However, attempting it is. If you are having suicidal thoughts SEEK IMMEDIATE help. Call a hotline, see a doctor, or go to the ER. Do something to hlep yourself. If someone has told you of their thoughts, you need to get them help. There's no legal obligation, however, moral obligations are high. Someone who can help them. By telling you, they are reaching out for help and it's something you need to give them. Physcians and other people in the medical field do have a legal obligation to inform the proper authorities of suicidal ideations.

It's iileagal to attempt suicide. But if you commit it....it doesn't really matter if it's illegal, because your dead so...
Anyone one has the right to tell others if they have thoughts of suicide or know of someone who does. But having thoughts of suicide is not illegal. If the authorities are informed, the person is most likely to be reccomended therapy and/or medication.

It's funny how it is totally illegal for a person to commit suicide. And indeed if you mention the word to antoher person especially a health profession they will be extremely concerned and If they take you seriously, you will be under suicide watch. Everyone thnks of death from time to time, especially if life is filled with constant pain whether it's actual or inner thought. Life is really hard and you must develop a way to cope with your feelings and to deal with every day life in a constructive and healthy way. It may not be better if your gone from the living.

It actually is illegal to commit suicide (so i guess if you try to kill yourself and make a mistake they put you in jail??)

certain jobs require people to tell others if they find out someone is considering suicide for example: teachers. if a teacher finds out you are hurting yourself (suicide would apply here) or someone else is hurting you, they are required by law to tell the principle/headmaster, who then decides whether to tell ur parents or the cops.

other than jobs where you are required report maybe-would-be suicide commiters, the only thing to obligating you to tell others is how you feel about it morally

It doesn't matter if it's legal or not, there is nothing they can do to you once you're already dead. If someone knows of another's intention to kill themself, they are not obligated, but should tell the authorities.
