I am a girl and my hair looks like one of those surfer boys with the long hair. What should i use in order to make my hair silky, soft, full of luster, thick, basically healthy? Also, are their any products that get rid of static? To make this simpler, here's what i need to know. If you know the answer to one or more reply!!!!

B) How to get my hair thick, lust, and healthy
C) How to get rid of static

A) Soft and silky: Get rid of split ends first. Second, give your hair a good washing and then deep condition it (preferably on a day you spend at home so you can just leave it in all day) Doing this occasionally will keep the roots from being greasy but the rest of your hair moisturized.

B) Thick and healthy: this just takes time. Keep eating right, drink lots of water (hey, it makes your teeth whiter, complexion clearer and hair healthier. Nothing to lose) and don't wash it TOO much if your hair is thin or damaged.

C) Static: I have problems with this in the winter when I straighten my hair. Best thing for it is actually a dryer sheet (clean obviously) just rub it over your hair and it does help. (I was surprised, too)

D) Poofy: try blowdrying it upside down, and using a really good shampoo on the roots (you mentioned they were oily) Citre Shine is amazing for that. Aussie also has a deep cleaning citrus shampoo that works. I wouldn't recommend teasing it because that creates split ends.

Use a clarifying shampoo or mix some baking soda with your shampoo just for that one day (not with your whole bottle). Then, use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with conditioning masks once or twice a week. 1) You can even mix avocado with coconut milk, put it in your hair for 20 minutes and rinse, shampoo and condition. Or: 2) try mayonaise and do the same as above minus the coconut and avocado. To get rid of static, put a tiny bit of lotion mixed in your hand, so that only residue remains and lightly run your fingers through your hair. Take vitamin E every day. But beware, it may cause breakouts. Or take pre-natal vitamins, but those can be expensive. To get your hair poofy, dry your hair upside down with the blowdryer. You can mousse your roots or use a shaper spray, not actual hair spray, then style accordingly. And, Ialways recommend coloring or glazing your hair because color (not peroxide color) always makes your hair shinier, softer and more healthy. Color is permanent. Glaze creates a nice glow when you go in the sun, but washes out in 6-8 weeks.

The link to the hairstyle is not unavail so I can't comment on that. It sounds like you really need a clarying(sp) shampoo to get the residue out of your hair first, then apply a moisturizing conditioner w/ protein in it. I'm not sure you ethnic background but for African American's we have to keep our have moisturized. I like Neutrogena's hair care line and Nexxus is wonderful. Also, if you have some money to spare go to the hair salon for a few weeks to get your hair wash/cond professionally. As for poofiness, I don't like the poodle head look so I can't comment on that either. I have can give you a few more products just let me know. Good luck, Nina J

Dove has a really good shampoo and conditioner with a repairing treatment that you use together. It is for severe dry and damaged hair. It works wonders. They are all in blue bottles. Hope this helps.

You can solve all your hair problems with a good headshave. Try it!
