As long as you are in his house, you should obey his rules. When you are able to branch out on your own, then you can do whatever you like. His job is to try to raise you the best way possible, and that may be to keep you away from the obvious perverts. Not saying that everyone on myspace is a pervert, but quite a few are. This rationale isn't harsh, its all a part of life. Maybe by then you may not want it anyway. I am not saying that he is right or wrong, but one should honor their mother and father. He has seen/experienced things that you don't know about yet. When a parent says no, it doesn't mean that they don't love you, sometimes it is actually for our own good. There are perverts everywhere you go, and you have to show maturity by not allowing this to bother you. Just because all of our friends are doing it, doesn't make the activity safe. Try another activity aside from this one, but don't make a decision that you will regret later, and who knows, if he sees that you are being obedient and not holding a grudge, he may actually allow you to have a myspace in the near future. He might say to himself that since you have handled his rejection maturely that you are mature enough to handle your own myspace. Just a thought though.

Respect your dad. Or, plead your case with him, and agree to having one, but not putting up your actual picture, or using your real name, information, etc. Tell him that you want one, and that you're willing to give him the password to your account so that he can periodically check up on it, etc. Tell him that you want one, and that you're willing to be responsible about it, and be open with him about it.

I'm 23 and I have one, but when my parents found out about myspace and facebook on the news with predators out there, I showed them both of my pages and they were cool with it. No, I wasn't as young as you and didn't need their permission to sign up, but still, having a myspace page isn't worth damaging your relationship with your Dad. For me, myspace and facebook just create drama, and I wish I didn't have them.

Unitl you are 18 and on your own, you have to follow his rules. He knows what he is talking about. A lot of crap happens on myspace. My daughter is on it, she's over 18, and has been quite embarrassed when my wife writes to her on it.

brag about why can't you have it. Maybe He'll end up saying fine. And then you can make a my space. I have a my space but my parents don't know. I guess they don't really care. They aren't home much anyways. Or the other choice is.... Don't make one. Or u can ask your dad and say please every single minute & secound u have. And say please i won't ask for anything els unless i really have to.

Listen to your Dad and respect his wishes while you are living in his house.

respect your Dad. If you make a page behind his back and he finds it he can have it taken down and you'll just get in trouble for it.

Save yourself the grief.
