okay i want to know if this guy likes me without directly asking him.?

i am kinda shy and so is he i want to know if he likes me without asking him upfront. because i am in middle school and i dont want to be embaressed if he doesnt like me. and we have known each other since 2nd grade and he is soooooooooooo sweet!!!
