We want to take either a portable keyboard or a digital piano with us when we drive to our apartment in Spain but are concerned that it won't work when we get there. A friend has suggested that we may be better purchasing the equipment in France as this would then be compatible in Spain. Advice please.

Yes it will work in spain (providing it works in the UK of course!). All you will need to do is change the plug or use a continental adapter.

In my opinion, the two most important features on a learning keyboard are full-size keys and velocity sensitivity. They're crucial to learning the proper technique and feel. I'd also strongly recommend getting a keyboard with good-quality sounds and line outputs for an external amplifier. Just because it's your first keyboard, it doesn't have to be a throw-away. If you get a good one, you might even be able to use it on gigs. Yamaha is definitely one of the better brands, so I'd say you're thinking along the right lines.

Yes, either will work. Spain has a 230Vac supply at 50Hz.

You could easily have looked for this information on the web.
