Possibly. God has commanded to "Honor Thy Father and Mother" and she told you to give up you Xbox for lent and you refused then you are in violation of his law. Also if your mother thinks your Xbox is important enough to give up for Lent then it seems to me that you are spending too much time playing Xbox than anything else which would make it an Idol to you which brings the commandment "Thou shalt not worship any Gods before me." And technically your Xbox has become a God to you. So yes God maybe punishing you.

Only you can decide what to give up for Lent and why you're doing it. You could always offer to do the bread and water fast for 40 days instead!

Maybe, but most likely it was your Mom, and you should give up speaking to her for lent.

I took home a mouse once from a computer class. There were dozens of them lying around. When I got home and hooked it up, my computer crashed! I took it back the next day and promised never to "lift" anything from school or office again.

God does not behave that way. God is good. I don’t claim to understand Lent, but aren’t YOU supposed to decide what to give up, not your mom?
I’d say either somebody broke it or it was a coincidence.

Why are you blaming God for that?
I'm inclined to believe it was your mother, but regardless of that fact, what's wrong with giving up the xbox for a moment? It's not forever.

No God isnt punishing you. its a coincidence or either your mom broke it on purpose. but life aint about games or toys or candy or money or power. life is about what you make out of it and make the best out of it.
