Chickens can fly. My husband's grandmother had chickens when he was little and they where always up in the trees. They don't go for long because of their weight.
Turkeys can too, for short spurts. They need a good running start.

It really depends on the breed as to how well if flies. If you think about it, farmers want their chickens to stick around, so they bred them to be heavy, smaller wings, and other general things to keep them nice and close to home. Same thing with domesticated geese, but if you look at their wild counterparts (like Canadian geese) they can fly very well. Wild turkeys can fly (somewhat badly, but they do roost in trees at night to avoid predators). Since chickens have humans to protect them, the ones that can't fly well aren't weeded out, unlike in the wild. If chickens went feral, most of them would get eaten, but the ones who could fly better would probably survive, and in a few generations chickens could fly again, albeit not very well.

'Chickens are coming domicile to roost' as in.... All issues ultimately teach themselves. the reality will out. What is going around comes around. Paybacks a mom Fu@ker. You get the belief..... EDIT: I watched the 'notorious' Wright provider in that's entirety some time past. In that's context, it relatively is incredibly stirring. of path, for the sake of politics, you in basic terms get the bits and products. for this reason the some distance extraordinary has no credibility left.

Who told you chickens cannot fly?? My chickens fly all the time. They just can't fly long distances, because they are heavy birds and their wings are not as strong as other large birds such as eagles, hawks, owls and buzzards. But they sure can fly out of the pen when there is no top, or fly up to a tree limb.

Chickens can fly, just not well. They have the ability to get limited flight but they cant sustain it. Because of their big bodies and short wings they cant stay up long.
