From someone who knows and experienced the result of a self written Will - see a lawyer. I know there are Will forms you can buy, directing you what to do but it can be amazing the slightest irregularity can cause all sorts of hassle and wishes intended not carried out, no matter how simple it seems to do. It is very inexpensive and if you already have your own lawyer often they don't charge you. Around here quite a lot of firms don't charge regardless if you are an existing client or not and you just put a donation in a collection box which goes towards the local hospice. This works 2 ways as when handing over to the hospice they get a mention in the local paper so free advertising for them. Look around and you will rest easy your wishes will be carried out exactly as you want them.

She would be your step daughter if you were married. If you see her as your daughter, and you would like leave her a legacy, just mention it in the will. If you do not mention her, she would be entitled to nothing.

If you are not legally married, then she would not really be your step daughter. But you could say:

I leave (whatever you are willing to her) to (her name), whom I have always considered a daughter. (Or something like that.) Good luck.

Only if you are married. Just name her as your partner's child and bequeath whatever you want to her.

no she is not. but if you are asking because you want her to have part of your inheritance , then all you have to do is list her in your will, and what it is she is to get.
