Should I date a guy who isnt my type at all, and my family would joke about, b/c he is into rap and stuff, and I'm not I like rock, and hate all that stuff, but we kinda have a connection?? Will we get into alot of differences about things..like I won't do the "grinding" which seems acceptable, and stuff, ...and I hate rap music, and the look...

Give it a try, but keep it casual. You never know, it might turn out better than you think.

Well it may be a good idea...since the only thing you seem to indicate here is your musical differences. You like rap, he likes rock, and you both have connections. Despite all this, if he isn't your type, you might want to "hang out" with him some more and judge if you really want to be with him. If your family makes fun of you, it is likely they see a mismatched pair. This may seem so in their eyes, but it may not actually be that way if you truely want to go out with him.

Rap does not make a relationship.
If you like him otherwise, just dont discuss music.
The differances that the two of you have could make for alot of fun.
If you dont like grinding, dont do it.
Date and have fun
if it does nto work out, then at least you wont wonder 'what if'
p.s. Keep your parents and friends out of it.
The two of you should be the most important thing in the relationship

I would suggest taking it slow. Don't necessarily "get into a relationship" with him. Just spend time with him and see if you think it will work out. If you like him enough, you won't have this question anymore. If you still ask this question after spending time with him, then the answer is no. Good luck!

It could definitely happen..obviously, I'm a huge redneck..always have been..and I completely couldn't stand the whole "skater" stereotype..along with the people in it..but one special guy changed my mind..&& we've been together for 8 1/2 months now:D...So, I say give the guy a chance:]

You've given more reasons not to date this guy than you have given pros. I'd say "no" if you can't come up with something more substantial than "we kinda have a connection". I have a connection with the guy that does my plumbing, but I'd never go on a date with him.

Yes, you should date him. Expand your horizons. If it doesn't work, big deal, you made a mistake. Find that vague space between rap and rock and go live there for awhile.

If you have to ask, and you know that you have so many differences then no i dont think that you should get with him. if you kind of have a connection then you should be friends who like music.

Stay clear of that guy. Rap sucks. Can't spell crap without rap.
