Make her exercise.. you can exercise with her to encourge her. Also watch what she eats. Make sure her calorie intake is less than what she's burning.

I was too, probably even heavier. If I remember correctly, my major problem was portion size. That, and I didn't know anything about nutrition. My parents never really read labels and served full fat everything. First, she should cut out regular pop and high fat foods. She should get more activity, which is something you can help with. Get out on the B-ball court, go Rollerblading, etc. Maybe she should play softball this summer, to get out of the house. At her age to diet and exercise is a bit much; what she really needs is a lifestyle change.

What the hell? I doubt she is overweight, and I doubt you are pretty and perfect. Don't try to get her to lose weight, you should be trying to support her instead. What a great sister you are.

Get her to a doctor and have your parents ask about it for her. 4th grade is really young, so you have to be careful.

Be her friend as well as sister and set an example for her without mentioning her weight.
Ask her to take a walk with you and again not mentioning her need to walk, only inviting her to walk with you.
My guess is that she will feel special that you are including her in your world. Good luck, you are a good sister .

take her jogging with you. children are inspired by seeing others run. and encourage her to eat better. but like the jogging thing, you must eat healthy to show her how its done.
