There is a difference! You love your parents, but you are not "in-love" with them. Loving someone is more like a caring feeling. In love is wanting to spend every moment together...the feeling that you cannot live without that person.

There is a big difference. I feel kind of like your boyfriend right now. I feel as though I love my boyfriend but I don't know if I'm in love with him anymore. Do you know the saying "I love him, I just don't like him?" It's kind of like that. When you're in love with someone, you see no flaws; it's kind of like puppy love. But love is stronger feeling, in which you accept flaws and still want to be with that person. It's the way you feel about your family (even though you don't like thim sometimes, you still love them). Personally, I don't see it as a bad thing to love a significant other but not be in love with them anymore. It simply means you have progressed to a new level.

Think about it...you may love your family, love your friends, but you are only "in love" with someone you want to be with romantically.

Your boyfriend has feellings for you, but not the romantic kind.

There isn't really a difference. Your in love and you love somebody means basically the same thing.

You can love people that you admire or respect without being in love with them.
