Depends on what you're looking for. If Bigger is Better, than you want Royal Caribbean. Celebrity offers smaller boats, a lower passenger-crew ratio.

They're both decent cruise lines.

Celebrity is head and shoulders above Royal Caribbean. Both are owned by the same company but Celebrity shines bright.

We have been on 21 cruises with number 22 coming next month. Celebrity is our favorite, next months will be the 10th on that line. The food is the best of any Cruise line and everything else is just a little nicer. Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity but each has it own Master Chef.

They each offering something, it just depends on what you are looking for.

Royal Caribbean has larger ships with more onboard activities, while Celebrity has better service, better food, smaller ships, etc.

If you are wanting to go and relax, then celebrity is a great choice, but if you are going with kids and/or just want to have a lot to do onboard, Royal Caribbean will probably work better.

It also kind of depends on the ship.

I believe that they are owned by the same company and that Celebrity can sometimes cater to an older crowd depending on what cruise your going on for instance Alaska might have more older people on it then say kids and teens. If you are looking for class then Celebrity and if you are looking for a little more expensive and with some bigger ships and everything then Royal Caribbean has more on board ships activites probably and has more kid stuff to do but they are both great lines and my personal favorite is Celebrity.

we have been on both celebrity and royal caribbean. we like them both. royal caribbean has the climbing wall, the ice skating, wave runner, etc. celebrity has tennis, golf, etc. It depends on what you're looking for. We take four cruises a year and have been on almost every cruise line. we liked these two so much we bought stock in the company.

Celebrity is actually Royal Caribbean's upscale brand and they charge accordingly. Depending on your age, likes and dislikes, availability to travel any time of year, choice of itinerary, and ages of accompanying children should determine which cruise line you go for. They both have pros & cons. Celebrity seems to go just the extra mile for their passengers because its expected.

I have been on both cruise lines and find the service, ships, food, and staff to be very close to the same. Actually they are both owned by the same company now and whatever amenities you earn on Celebrity are accepted on RC and vice Versa.

Celebrity ships are about the same size as RC ships. We cruised on the Constellation and it carries about the same number of passengers as RC's Brillance, Radiance and Jewel. The service on the Celebrity ship was a tad better, but the food and amenties were about the same. I actually preferred the decor to RC vs the Celebrity ship.
