There is this one guy in the gym that I think is really cute. He has only spoken to me once when he asked what time a class was, however it was posted right there in front of us. I always catching him looking at me. He will hold eye contact but doesn't smile. Is he interested or just looking? Unfortunately I am just shy around people I would be interested in, not too good.

He sounds interested, how do you react when you see him staring at you, will make a difference in how he will react. Smile at him a little, just make casual conversations some time . If your in the same class ask him a question that has to do with that course. Try to overcome your shyness, I had the same problem when younger and still do. I think it caused me to miss out on a lot of things in life. I hope you end up being good friends, good luck.

Guys make no sense... but it is true that guys have few things in common and one of them is that they only look a few seconds unless they are intrested. i think you should make a effort to try to talk to him more, even if it is about classes become like an accquantence with him the closer he gets the more he will notice and eventualy something will happen either he will ask you out or you will ask him, if he seems not that intrested atleast you have a new friend! Two shy people = a missed opportunity. It looks like you're going to have to get over your shyness if you'd like to get to know him better. Make the first move. Just say hello and ask him how he's doing today. The rest will hopefully come natural.
