I train on those manaquins punching bag things that are harder than a real person. I skin up my fists alot on them and now they are REALLY tough. I accidently punched a metal bar as hard as I could and i just made my knuckles bleed a little. Is their a peak to how conditioned my knuckles can be?

You only need to focus on correct anatomical movement in punching. that way when you punch the face, or jaw, the guy drops back onto his backside. the amount of pain you feel is minimal compared to his. all this is achieved without conditioning the knuckles.

just like muay thai, if you have the perfect form in kicking, you dont need to condition the shins, as the other guy drops hard.

you dont need to condition the 'iron palm' way either, as a chop to the throat or a simple palm to the face will do no damage to you at all but really take it toll on the victim.

its all about the technique, because without correct technique you set yourself up for injury and a loss.

do head butts require conditioning too? no, its technique that allows for the maximum damage, not the conditioning.

so anything you do may help you break boards, but is wasting time better spent perfecting the techniques of war.

The Professor of CHA 3 kenpo would train his hands for toughness, he had thick callus like scars on every knuckle.
The practitioners of iron palm / iron body kung fu do this also.
Not only does it toughen the hand but reduces feeling in the knuckles to improve striking.

the question is why would you want to injure yourself and get arthiritis?you need to do a hell of a lot more training if you dont have enough focus to not "accidently"punch an iron bar?

Keep going... try hot coals, then try broken glass.

You want your hands to be tough right?

Don't worry about arthritis either, I'm sure your sensei can burn some incense and douse your hands in magic salves and poof all better.
