I have a hound, dobie mix.. he is a great dog. He has been potty trained for years and does nothing wrong in the house until now all of a sudden he is peeing on his bed. I have washed it and he still does it. Please help if you know anything about this.

the most common reason for a housetrained pet to suddenly start urinating in the house is illness.
I'd take your dog to the vet to have him checked for a bladder infection.

Has the vet checked him out? My guess is that he has a bladder or kidney infection. Behavior that goes from being a good dog to being a pet with a problem is a good indicator that something is wrong (physically) and not a behavioral change, unless something has changed in the home - someone not home like they used to be, someone leaving the home, etc. But I would have him checked out first and make sure he's not sick.

Please take your dog to the vet-asap. Find out what is going on. Also, if there is someone new in your house, or a big change in the household schedule/routine, that can cause problems. The vet is the one who can best help this get remedied. Especially if the dog has a bladder infection or something. Take care.

In a dog this age it's either stress or illness related. Urge your vet to do broad spectrum blood tests to rule out cancers etc then find a good behaviourist in your location who can advise kind methods. Don't shout at him, he won't understand why. Just clear it up, pretend it never happened and take outside, put it on some newspaper and next time he goes out, let him sniff it to learn to associate the smell of it being outside not inside. Best of luck x

This could be a natural stage in life for a dog. Some dogs go through this stage! I would suggest checking out books on the specific problem. If that doesn't work try seeing a vet!

In general dogs do not urinate where they eat or sleep unless there is a problem. Have you introduced a new pet or baby into the home? This may be territorial. Another thing to consider is that he may have a urinary tract or bladder problem.

I found out that my dog had stones in his bladder. He just had a surgery last month. They prescribed some meds and cranberry pills but still couldn't control his bladder. He's on special diet. His vet ordered to gradually stop his old food (Beneful by Purina) and start giving him this special food. I forgot the special food but you can only get it from your vet. I suggest take this seriously and bring him to get his urine tested.

I would first have my dog thoroughly checked out for any problems. A sudden problem with urination makes me think this may have a physical basis.

You might want to take him to the Vet just to make sure he doesn't have an infection... Also try changing his bed... His scent is on in, even if you wash it they can still smell it...

He might have some type of bladder or urinary tract infection. Take him to the vet ASAP. It's not a behavior problem. It sounds medical.
