A few reasons.

Cigars are typically larger (thus produce more smoke) than cigarettes. Cigars are also have tobacco wrappers whereas cigarettes have paper wrappers.
The preparation of the cigar wrappers (aging, curing and fermenting) contribute to the unique odor as well. The filler tobacco will also impact the aroma of the cigar.

I'm still scratching my head because, I can't figure out what (stinky ole) cigars have to do with food and drink.
