I had an 8" in a tube before, I had to replace the original sub with a more powerful one to get it to bump, but it will with enough power going to it. Case in point, I had a 6" fosgate comp series in a tube, we hooked it up to the house stereo to see what it would sound like, the neighbor called the cops on us.........
I have also had 2 Crystal 6X9 in a box with a 400 watt Hermosa amp by LA sound in a fast back, friends would make me open the back to try and find a hidden box, they thought I had 10" subs hidden in the spare tire spot......
Its all about combining the right speaker, box, and amp.

Not likely. I have installed an 8inch SAS bazooka sub. You can control the sub volume knob and the best thing is, it does not require any additional amp to drive. The SAS bazooka really rocks for any small spaces.

It will bump but not nearly as you will expect. By the time you install, either yourself or have it installed, you will find that you wasted your time. I would go with a 12" WOOFER IF YOU WANT SOME BUMP IN YOUR TRUNK. YOU ALSO DID NOT SPECIFY IF IT WAS GOING IN CAR TRUNK OR PICKUP BEHIND SEAT?

no. it will not bump like you want. nor will it sound good. if you want a shallow sub that will bumb and sound good, check out Pioneer Premier's shallow mount woofers. you have to hear them to believe them.
good luck
