As a kid, I was never the one that put their finger in their eyeball. I always hated the thought of it. Now I'm thinking of contacts. Is it really bad and gross to put them in? I'm also scared they will fall underneath my eye. Please share your experiences.

I got my contacts about three years ago. At first, I was nervous about having to put them in, but it turned out to be no problem. I use soft contacts, and you pretty much can't even feel them on your eye. It only takes about 30 seconds to put my contacts in in the morning, and it is so much more convenient than having to worry about my glasses all the time (and better looking too :D) I would absolutely reccomend getting contacts, but talk to your optometrist first -- they'll be able to guide you through the process. And don't worry, the contacts won't fall underneath your eye -- they generally stay on your eye (I've never had this problem). The one thing that you can't use your contacts for is swimming (you can, but I wouldn't reccomend it -- I once lost a contact in the pool :( ). Oh, and make sure you put your contacts on before your eye makeup -- it's a lot easier. Sorry for the long post, but I wholeheartedly urge you to get contacts. It's one of the best decisions I ever made!!! Good luck!!!

I've worn contacts for years and LOVED them. I was very determined, i touched my eyeball every night for 2 weeks before i went to see the doctor and had no problems but if you can't do this look into laser surgery i have had it done now for 5years and not problems at all..........it is costly but worth every dime of it(look into the cost of the expense a year on contacts and glasses) because i could not see with out my glasses. Now i have no worries.

It takes practice, but eventually you get used to touching your eyes. I've been wearing contacts for about 25 years & I've never "lost" one in my eye. I've even worn them swimming & accidentally opened my eyes under water & they didn't come out.

The trick is to make sure they're clean & don't have any little fuzz on them, or they won't be comfortable. Also make sure you're putting them on the right way. They feel terrible if you put them in inside out. Sometimes they are marked, so it's easier to tell if you have them right. The person who fits you for them can show you.

They aren't that bad. I've had them for a while and it's kinda like touching your eye, but like you have something on your finger while you touch it, ya know? And you can put the solution in them and it makes it feel a lot better. You just can't sleep with them in. They've never fallen under my eye, but it's just a little weird when you first get them.

I prefer contacts to glasses because my vision isn't obstructed by a glasses frame. Contacts are comfortable to wear and easy to put in and take out. It's healthy to wear contacts as long as you wash your hands before putting them in and take them out at night to clean. If you accidentally fall asleep with them on, they don't roll back but are in the same place in the morning. A few times my contact will get pushed back, but you can gently rub around your eye to move it back into its place.
I would recommend trying them. You don't really have anything to lose and if you don't like them just wear glasses.
