I don't know about hotels but I've stayed in three guesthouses around Cornwall (St Austell, Penzance and Newquay). They were all good guesthouses/b&b's. The one in Newquay was Quies Hotel in August 2006. I can't remember where I stayed in Penzance or St Austell as it was in 2001. I used Smooth Hound Systems http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ to find all three.

We stayed a number of years ago at the Watergate Bay hotel. Right at the beach. Kids were 5 and 8 and they loved it.

Penzance is small, so that you gained't discover many motels there and dissimilar places close on the top of the season. you'll want to spread your wings slightly, attempt Marazion, Hayle, your maximum ideal guess is Truro. Google vacationer assistance for lists. have you ever been to Penzance? there is little to do there in the iciness.
