i am a host and i get tipped by bussing tables off-when i am the only host i cannot buss tables( my managers dont like me to) so this guy came and complain to me his tables were dirty (he was cut so my managers told me not to buss tables when the servers get cut) (it's the rude server i posted a ques. about here previously, anyways, when we close i buss any dirty tables and i do his all the time yet he claims i dont and he says he 's not going to tip me - i mean i have been right in front of his face bussing his tables off and he's even said "thanks" because he's seen me bussing his tables so where the hell does he come on telling me i 'm not bussing his tables? what should i do?

Sound like he's just a cheapskate. I wouldn't do him any favors anymore. I'd pick up a broom and start sweeping before bussing HIS tables again!

Talk to the manager and ask if there is a way to get tipped for hosting b/c you don't always get to go bus when you are the only hostess and then it affects your income directly. Then, if he complains that you aren't bussing when you are, tell him to go ask the manager to bus his tables. If nothing helps, find another job where the pay is more equally divided.

Being a server myself, it is a bussers job or the servers job to buss their own tables. Especially if he is cut; that is his job. If he is going to be a jerk about it don't even think about helping him. He is just being lazy. Where I work, we don't tip the hosts so it is cool that you get that, at least once in a while.

You clearly need to speak to management about this server. This is not correct behavior.

Until then, do not bus his tables anymore. He will notice. When he asks, tell him, "Why should I bother when you don't acknowledge that I always bus your tables and you don't tip me?" You do not work for free.

Seriously though, you need to speak to management.

Just learn from that - and when you're a server don't be a ***** and always tip your bussers. That's the best thing you can do - be a better person.

In the meantime - tell your managers about him.
