it is you can choose to believe or you can choose not to believe! You sound suicidal you should take to someone!

Hop on a plane. Travel to the Andes of South America. Live there for a little bit. Get to know the people. Find children who can't see, walk or talk for lack of simple medical care. Provide that. It will make you happy and give your life meaning. You will never feel sorry for yourself again.
Feeling sorry for yourself is the ultimate in cowardice. Even worse than Christians clinging to the fantasy of an after-life.

A belief cannot be proven right or wrong. So choose what works for you. There cannot be right or wrong without proof.
If you were never born, you could not learn anything (cure the problem). If life sucks because you don't know anything, think how bad eternity will suck.

People who say belief is a choice do so by rote. If they took the time to analyze the concept with their minds instead of mindlessly quoting religious doctrine, they would realize that. Unfortunately, they fear (rightfully so) that independent thinking will compromise the 'faith' they so desperately want to hang onto.

Because they have not thought about it. You can't decide which evidence you find compelling. It either is or isn't. I'll bet they can't choose to believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Well, not exactly all that similar.
It makes since to me that if there is one God and one Universal truth that the same/similar symbols and metaphors would be found in many different cultures. To me that shows how connected we all are.
And it really is your choice whether or not you want to seek God.

No, actually I am happy to be alive and I do not regret being born. Life is what you make it.
You cannot force yourself to believe something.

Oh, c'mon Zeek, quit being so melodramatic. Life only sucks if you want it to. You are in control of your destiny, not anyone else.

Faith does not require prove, that is why it is called Faith.
If it was based on your previous experience or "book knowledge" or some kind of prove it would no longer be Faith, it would be "knowledge"
