My kidney's don't work well at the moment. I have about 22% kidney function. How long can you survive without treatment if my kidneys are as bad as this?

The answer is that it can vary from person to person. There's a forum of people who can help - some are pre-dialysis and some are dialysis patients. It's a great place to ask questions, even about getting a kidney transplant. Go to http://www.ihatedialysis.com - good luck to you!

Once your kidneys reach a very low level you need to start dialysis as your body will not survive due to the toxins in your body, I am trying to remember when I started my dialysis, i think it was somewhere below 15%. I started being sick all the time and my consultant told me that this would be the time when people started to die years ago. As to who long you can survive without dialysis all depends on the speed in which they are failing. I personally once i was diagnosed with chronic renal failure, i just wanted to get on dialysis so i could feel better. Good luck.

It depends. Generally when it gets to about 15%. My husband is on dialysis now. when his kidneys were at about 30% it took maybe a year or so before he went on dialysis.
