I received a forward email today with a powerpoint presentation that had sound and a really beautiful story. I would like to make the same thing but with family photos and email it to family members. Im not "computer smart" and need some help. Thanks so much!
1. I have windows xp.. do I have powerpoint because I do not see it, or do I need to purchase it?
2. I would like to put a project together with family photos and sound... I dont want to finish and then find out that I cannot email it because the file is to big, which sometimes happens to me. How do I know how many pictures I can add to the presentation and then how do I know how much I can email? I would like to put pictures with music in the backround, could anyone help. Thank you so much... this means a lot!!

Okay, First off powerpoint wont be installed onto your computer unless your computer came with the Microsoft Office software bundle. If it didn't (you must ask for this software upon purchase) you have to buy it or download it off the internet. You can buy it in a store or online. To figure out how many pictures you can put in the powerpoint you need to first find out how large the service you are using allows. Like if you use yahoo it has a 20MB maximum i believe. then you need to figure out how large the pictures are so you know how many you can put in the powerpoint. to do this individually right click on the pictures when you have them in front of you then click properties and it will tell you how large it is. most likely if it was taken with a digital camera its about 700KB or so. To figure out how to work Powerpoint first buy it then install it and powerpoint has help and support features which will help you make the presentation. i would suggest Microsoft Office 2003.

Part two of your question: size. Your internet provider has limits on how big an email can be, your recipients also have limits on how big an email they can receive. So there is not a simple answer. Generally keeping your email under one meg is generally safe.
Use an picture editor to find the best compromise between image quality and size. First, use the smallest image size that you can tolerate. The find the lowest quality that is still worth viewing. Sound is the same thing. wmv and mp3 have quality settings. More sounds better, but finding the threshold is the key.
Download the demo version of Powerpoint and experiment. It will be an adventure, but if you invest the time you can make a show that is worth the time of your viewers.

If you have microsoft office you have powerpoint. Otherwise you do have to buy it.
I would judge how many photos to include by the number that you have in the file you are basing your design on. Also the size of the photo files makes a difference so check that out in your phot directory through view - details.

good luck

you do no longer say what version, notwithstanding it is going to likely be the comparable. you ought to circulate into grasp view, slide grasp and from there, insert, image from record and double click on the record icon once you detect it. Resize as suitable to fill the slide, remembering to do it from nook so it keeps to be in share, suitable button of mouse, deliver to diminish back ,yet reckoning on colouring, you will possibly be able to might desire to make it much less shiny, i.e. substitute transparency in order that your text fabric and different gadgets are legible over it. by utilizing installation your grasp, all different slides conform to it. If notwithstanding you do no longer want the comparable image on all slides, purely insert it on whichever slide you want. you additionally can in case you do no longer want to apply the grasp, suitable click on a slide, or on the grasp (no longer in a placeholder) right down to history, click on image, navigate to the place this is and produce it in that way.
