Hey, everything is possible,
But not everything is recommended.

I knew a guy in AZ who kept chickens in his basement. The bird mites and chiggers came up through the floor and made he, his wife, and baby miserable.
They had to build a coop way back in the yard to move the hens into.
Then had the house tented three times before they could move back in.

Laws and regulations have been mentioned by others, so I won't get into that ... tho' YOU should.
Besides 10 x 6 is not a room, it's a closet.

Here are some sites ...

if this room is inside your house thn no i have kept hens and they make a lot of mess and smell really bad u need to hose the mess down a drain with disinfectant also it would be very unhealthy to u as the faeces dries and would float in the air u do not want to breath tht it contains all sorts of bacteria but if it is outside and has drainage then fine they dont mind huddling together to sleep make it safe from foxes 1 got all of mine 1 by 1

The normal amount is NONE. What the f@ck do you want 50 chickens for..? Are you planning on introducing Asian Bird Flu to the hood..? Or are you attempting to go for the worlds biggest ommelette..? Whatever your reasons, they are not SANE..!

does your spare room have alot of screened windows more like a porch than a walled in room?
cause chichen poop really stinks.they are also very destructive when massed together. like if one chicken starts to bleed from a cut-all the other chickens will peck at it until its dead. one or two chickens make good pets believe it or not.

yeah it would be way better for them, they will get more attention, will be safer and warmer but you will need to take out carpet and replace with tiles also tile to the height of about a metre up the wall and clean it regularly

If you live in the country, sure. But in the city, I believe they have laws against that sort of thing. Besides, with bird flu, you don't want to live with them. That's how you catch it.

u should build a shed in ur back yard. that is pretty nasty to have chickens in your house. Don't they have like salaminila or something.
