Instead of listing all the facts for you, I will provide the websites where you can find them. The first one is really the best since it is from the CDC (Center for Disease Control). The second one will list the facts for you in question and answer form.
http://www.cdc.gov/std/Herpes/STDFact-Herpes.htm
http://www.ahmf.com.au/genital_herpes/essential_facts_gh.htm
http://www.ihmf.org/general/resources03.asp
http://www.herpes.com/genitalinfo.shtml
http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/stdherp.htm

You will find all of these very helpful. Good luck on your paper!

I got diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about 3 years ago, when I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know loads of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/jROys everything got better.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

1. It is easily passed from one person to the next through sexual contact.
2. It can be passed orally to genitally when one person has a cold sore on their mouth.
3. You can pass it on to someone else even if you don't have symptoms yet. (the cells "shed" and can be passed on during this time)
4. Having a baby when you have an outbreak of herpes is extremely damgerous to the baby. They almost always do a caesarean section if the mother has an active herpes outbreak. It can cause damage to the newborn's vital organs and the central nervous system. If the newborn does become infected, it can be fatal.
