I weigh about 235, though its not super overweight for me, I would like to lose my gut. I am about 6 foot, and I work in construction, so I have to eat enough that I can work effeciantly. But, the past 4 months, I have only worked a little bit, and not only did I eat what I normally eat, but I am eating out of bordem. And just recently I realized I need to change. Mostly cause I don't want health problems. A friend just had a massive heart attack from too much cholesterol and being overweight, and I dont want that to be me.

So, are there any suggestions, besides surgery, pills, and not eating? And I have been excersizing, but its not helping much. I walk about 5 miles everyday, and play things like DDR, good cardiovascular workout. Still, its not enough.

. it sounds like you are getting plenty of excercise- if you want though you could start jogging to pick up the pace and make your heart stronger. try incoporating more healthy food into your diet like fruits and vegetables instead of mostly meat and carbs.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Try sticking to salads and things low in fat, stray away from fast food places. Refrain from snacks. Keep it 3 healthy meals a day. If you get a craving for something just eat a small portion of it because you could end up eating more things to calm your craving then just ending it. Exercise is good, but without a diet its worthless. Also a good thing don't drink more then on soda a day, and when you get hungry drink water. Stick to drinking 8 cups of water a day or more if you want something a little different try crystal light or diet tea. Good Luck! Mia!

Yeah, shoot for extra or less 2-3 pounds a week and you'd be solid.... additionally while you're a brilliant whale, some weight will drop incredibly rapid for the 1st few weeks, yet then it is going to slow right down to 2-3 a week. CALS IN VS CALS OUT--- ALL IT COMES right down to BAYBE

Substitute sodas and beer with water. Stay away from potatoes and sugar. As a matter of fact, if you drink more water, 10 glasses daily, and eliminate sugar for a month while walking a mile daily, you will see a difference.
That mile walk should be at a brisk pace.
Sorry to hear about your pal.

Nutrisystem, they advertise it on tv, its designed to work with the glycemic index. They mail you the food. My Mother-in-law just lost 100lbs in 3 to 4 months. She says that they send you more food than you can possibly eat. It cost about 10.00 a day. They make special meals for men.

The only diet that has worked for me at all has been of the low-carb variety. I have tried low fat, lots of exercise, cutting back on food, but nothing worked. On my low carb diet, I have lost 30 pounds and can easily lose more but am happy where I am at. Good luck.

Try eating a high fiber diet, cut all beverages that have calories. Also when you are hungry for a snack, drink a cup of coffee. Caffeine can kill your appetite and put you in a better mood.

I don't know if its healthy or not but when I want to lose about ten pounds I just eat one meal a day. Or eat lunch and eat only cereal and milk for dinner. It helps me lose alot. I'm 6' and 170.
