I'm in 9th grade and I've wanted to be a protection dog trainer since I was 5. I trained my GSD to do a lot of tricks. My parents want me to be a very rich investment banker but I don't really want to. How do I become a schutzhund trainer and start my own bussiness? How old do I have to be? What is school going to do? How do I tell my parents that I want to be a schutzhund trainer?

Well, a good place to start learning now is to get your dog into good classes with a Schutzhund trainer. You have time before persuing a "proper" education and nothing wrong with learning all you can with your dog now. Maybe only do the beginning Schutzhund (level 1), which is mainly obedience, so as not to upset your parents.

Get involved in your local schutzhund club. If you have a dog that can do the work. A lot of clubs have too many politics going on, so becareful. As far as schools, there are some, but, at your age you will not be admitted. Learn as much as you can by training your dog and maybe doing some helper work for the club. If you are as sincere about this, there will be people who will be happy to help you. By the way, ALL 3 stages of Schutzhund involve obedience, tracking and protection. Good luck
