They're about as romantic as a shotgun wedding.
Go for the ceremony! Go for the aisle, the organ music, the vows before God, the whole nine yards!
Make it memorable.
Cost depends on where you go.
I have a cousin that married outside in front of a huge flowering lilac. Beautiful.
But, I prefer a church. Court is someplace you NEVER want to be.

You can go to the justice of the peace and now a days they can be pretty romantic I got married by the justice of the peace and it was absolutely beautiful. It is not like you go and stand infront of some guy and he says I now pronounce you husband and wife it is actually quite nice
Also if you want to do it a different way which is almost the same price as the courts call around to ministers that will do a ceremony wherever you want them to and have a wedding in your home or outside so then maybe you wont regret it because the last thing you want to do is regret your wedding day.

I got married at the courthouse on our lunch hour! Not super romantic. But then months later, when it was a convenient time for family from all over the country to get together, we had a ceremony. I think it worked out great, because by the time we had the ceremony, we were already comfortable with each other and sure we had made a good choice., It was really FUN and not so stressful.
I think it was like $20 or something (but that was 20 years ago, so I'm not sure about now)

It depends on the JP who is holding your service. Some offer additional details but most just stick to the civil ceremony.
The price ranges depends on the JP it can vary from $45.00 - $150.00.
The costs for the marriage license can vary from $30.00 and up. Most County Clerk's offices only accept cash and there is usually a waiting period. Also there might be additional fees such as blood tests along with any document copies that you will want to request.
Most couples are now going to a wedding officiant for their services since they can be romantic and they are great for people who are on a budget.

Yes it was very romantic! I don't regret not having a weeding for a second, because as long as you love someone you really don't need to show off. My husband and I are very happy, and we used the wedding money to buy a house. If you love someone it doesn't really matter if you have a big wedding or not as long as you are with that person. good luck!

not sure if it depends on the city or state, but court weddings are like 150 bucks and they even give you a video for another 10 bucks or something.. for an additional 100 bucks we just did a backyard ceremony... as far as being romantic, that can be taken care of on your honeymoon :)

We paid about $50 and just signed a piece of paper.
NOT romantic at all. We were wearing jeans and had to rush back to our respective jobs. LOL.
That is why we are planning a huge fun religious ceremony in the summertime. WOO HOO!

No I sure don't regret having a courthouse wedding. For those of you who spend thousands. Great. We saved it for our nice house that we now live in. I'm very happy. My marriage license was $20. It really doesn't matter what kind of wedding you have, it's what happends every day after that wedding, can you make it to 10,20 +30+ years together????
