You can check the status of your refund by going the the Where's My Refund at the IRS website or call 1-800-829-1954
http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html

You should have gotten a confirmation of receipt of the return call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 M-F 7 am to 10pm
(they are closed on 02/19/2007 due to a Federal Holiday)

As said above if you requested your refund to go into another persons bank account changes are that it will be rejected and a paper check will be mailed

If you were not given the option to print AND a confirmation number, you didn't complete your on-line filing. Most e-file sites give you at least 2 chances to print and will automatically print a copy unless you 'uncheck' the print option. The link below is the IRS 'Where's My Refund' page. You need to know the amount of the refund to use it.

FWIW, the IRS won't be direct depositing your refund. You cannot have the refund direct deposited into someone elses's bank account. The account holder must be one of the people on the tax return. The IRS will automatically reject the direct deposit, and will issue you a paper check for the return. This will add about another week to the typical two week wait for your refund.

You can go to "Where's My Refund" on the IRS website and find out the status of your tax refund. You have to enter your SSN, your filing status, and what your expected refund is.

Here is a link to the Where's My Refund page:

https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp

After putting your info in, there should be a date of when they will be depositing your refund. You should at least get a general message of them accepting your return and it being processed. However, as the others said, since your name was not on the account, they might not do a direct deposit and will mail it instead.
